Jacqui Black was raised in Golders Green, a suburb of London and attended Queen Mary College, London University. Her career took her from Adverting with Leo Burnett to Marketing with a variety of companies. In 1982 she met and married an American who lived in Evanston.
Her love of theatre was engendered by her mother, who took her to many pre-West End release plays at the Golders Green Hippodrome. She had a subscription to the National Theatre at the Old Vic from 1963 and saw many plays with their original casts: Jumpers with Diana Rigg, Equus with Corin Redgrave, Peter O’Toole in Hamlet, Maggie Smith as Desdemona in Othello, No Man’s Land with Ralph Richardson and Sir John Gielgud.
For several years she provided Marketing and Publicity support for European Repertory Company which was co-founded by Yasen Peyankov and Dale Goulding. When Piccolo produced Stoppard’s The Real Inspector Hound she was able to combine two of her favorite things Evanston and Theatre. She is delighted to be helping Piccolo with their Publicity. In her other life Jacqui Black is a Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker in Evanston.
Jacqui considers herself a “Stoppard Freak” and believes him to be “this generation’s Shakespeare”. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern is one of her all time favorites.
