Robert Erving Potter III (Ensemble Member, Founder) first chance at stardom was averted when he was rightfully fired from The Second City by Cheryl Sloane for being on stage during a performance that he wasn’t cast in. Mr. Potter has since sobered up, and made his comeback performance as the Butcher and the Bishop in the Piccolo Theatre's 2002 performance of Mr. Punch or Jack and the Blasé Bride written by Ken Raabe directed by Loraine Masterton.

Mr. Potter studied photography at Interlochen Arts Academy by day and by night (after curfew) he learned the art of improvisation and his way around back stage in Gruno Theatre with fellow mischievous and rule bending peers. He went on to study Theatre with “Doc” Sitton at Valparaiso University. He read Shakespeare at Cambridge University, Cambridge England, and was accepted by the C.U. Thespian Society. His professional life in theatre started when he was cast in The Tale of the Headless Horseman performed on horseback directed by Joe Dolye. Mr. Potter was one of the regulars at Batteries Not Included an invitational Improv comedy group produced by Joe Keefe and Ron Dean. Potter was also involved in the filming of the Warner Brothers movie Above the Law and says that sparring with Steven Segal is something he never wants to do again.

Mr. Potter, specializes in photographing the creation process with insight and passion. His work is about people and their creative endeavors. Art in it’s creation, Art as a byproduct of creation and the Human interaction with Art. Robert forges a unique relationship between the witness and the maker of art. This shows in his body of work. Robert’s intent is to spark an emotional experience in those who see the images he creates.

His corporate clients include: the Lookingglass Theartre, Donner & Company LLC, Piccolo Theatre, The Second City and Goodman Theater, 3Com, Texas Instruments, Warner Brothers, CBS, Paramount Productions, Kodak and Polaroid. Mr. Potter is internationally published his images have appeared in Chicago Magazine, People, Esquire, Iui, Gentleman's Quarterly, Elle, First For Women, Actuel and San Actuel magazines.
