Vanessa Hughes is presently using her BA in Theatre and Television performance, which she obtained from Valparaiso University in 2001! With that in itself being a great accomplishment, she now has the great fortune of being a member of the Piccolo Theatre.

Surrounded by family and friends who nurture and support her artistic endeavors, she has appeared in such Piccolo shows as The Real Inspector Hound (Cynthia Muldoon) and Sinbad (Ali Kazam). In addition to acting, Vanessa has also Assistant Directed Piccolo’s production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. She has lent a hand in costume construction and most recently has accepted the role of Piccolo’s Marketing Coordinator. Vanessa is looking forward to choreographing for and performing in Vaudeville and Vixens (Piccolo’s 2008-2009 season opening show) and co-instructing beginning Ann Rudolph classes with Deborah Proud for the Piccolo school.

Accomplishments outside of Piccolo include the role of Martha for Livewire’s preview performance of Soldiers: The Desert Stand. She will also be Assistant Directing for Livewire’s upcoming production of that show. As an avid singer, you can also hear Vanessa’s voice on the soundtrack for the movie Even Trade (www.imdb.com).
