Zachary Davis has been working in various aspects of Chicago theater after graduating from Valparaiso University in 2001. He has worked as a director, dramaturg, producer, actor, designer, technician and administrator for companies all around the city including Bailiwick, Writers' Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and Open Cage Ensemble.

For Piccolo Theatre Zac directed the French Theatre Festival staged reading of Stage Combat as well as their Tom Stoppard productions Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, After Magritte and The Real Inspector Hound. Other Piccolo credits include playing stage manager-swing for The Artful Widow, running tech for We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay! and actually being seen onstage in Scapin.

In the autumn of 2007 he had the pleasure of returning to Valparaiso University to direct the theatre department's season opener A Phoenix Too Frequent, where he previously directed Beckett Works in 2003. Zac is a frequent guest director for Chicago acting school Act One Studios where favorite productions include Akhmatova and The Laramie Project.
